The diamond wires present numerous, often decisive advantages i.e. high sawing speeds, cuts of large dimensions, rapid starting of the cut, very little supervision necessary, low investment costs, high cutting quality, low noise level. It is suited for multiple applications for marble, granite, slate, sandstone etc. Now it is getting more popular in squaring off, sizing, slabbing and profiling of marble, granite and other various materials in the quarries itself. The impregnated diamond wire has been designed for working all types of stones and for improving the per square meter sawn.

The abrasive part of the bead consists of a ring with diamond impregnation the composition of which is similar to that of the segments of the gang saw or circular saw blades. The sawing speed of the impregnated diamond wire is practically constant during the whole tool life. It requires the minimum power of 40hp and a normal cooling i.e. 20 to 50 ltr. / minute according to the dimensions of the cut. Diamond wire can be used for all cutting operations in a quarry, however, it is by far the best method of operating primary extraction.

Diamond wire can be used extremely effectively to make horizontal cuts. The diamond wire technique has been in use since 1984 in various part of the world and since then it has been rapidly adapted throughout the world. The low cost of the cut, the accuracy of the profiling make the diamond wire undoubtedly very competitive.
